Our Settlement Committee volunteers turned out in force yesterday to prepare the house for our first family, make welcome signs, and stack wood.
Let us know if you want to volunteer or make an in-kind donation.

By popular demand, the Gift of Giving card drive will continue into the new year.
We have now raised enough money to submit our sponsorship application for the first family and are continuing with our plans to sponsor a second family. We do not know how long it will take before the first family arrives, but settlement plans are well under way. Our Fundraising Committee will continue to come up with funding ideas, but in the meantime our Settlement Committee has shifted into high gear and needs volunteers to help.
Visit our Get Involved page to find out how you can join in. We have a Volunteer Registry where you can indicate the activities that interest you. We also have an In-Kind Donation Registry where you can sign up to donate specific items that our family will need.
It has been a busy few months around the bay. After so many months of anticipation and preparation, we are ready to welcome a new family and show them just how wonderful this community is.
As we get closer to having a family join the Bay community, we are looking for more volunteers to lend a friendly hand. To help our settlement committee members stay organized, we have created an easy to use volunteer registry where you can let us know how you would like to share your skills and interests. Check out the volunteer registry, and sign up now if you would like to get involved.
For our first refugee family, we have found a lovely ‘furnished’ rental which means that we won’t need a lot of furniture at this time, although there are other needs we are working to address. In-kind donations can be a big help, and offset our financial needs.
If you would like to make an in-kind donation, please visit our new In-Kind Donations Registry and fill out the registry/donation form.
While we still don't have confirmed dates for a family coming to our area, we are hoping to secure in-kind donations by December 12th.
